Who is Jesus
About Christ and How to Become a Christian
Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the Son of God, the Son of Man, God in the flesh, the Messiah who came to bring salvation to the World. The World is and always has been sinful, since Satan tempted Adam and Eve to disobey God in the Garden of Eden. Man constantly rebels against God, however, He is merciful and loving; and in His love, He sent us His son, Jesus, to save us from ourselves.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23)
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16)
Jesus was a teacher, a healer, a prophet, and the Savior of the Earth. He performed many miracles and had many followers whom he taught to pray, live as righteous men, and spread the Word of God. While many adored Him, many also persecuted him, and this persecution eventually led to his execution. Jesus allowed Himself to be crucified to free us from the bondage of sin, so that we may be with God. He was crucified, buried, and on the third day, He ascended into Heaven to fulfill the prophecies and to return to be with the Father and sit at the right hand of God.
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
"I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10).
Jesus is the only way to be with God, and our salvation is dependent upon our relationship with Him. No one can enter Heaven just by being a good person or doing good deeds; we must have faith in God. If you admit that you are a sinner, you believe in your heart that Christ died for your sins, and confess to God your belief that Jesus was crucified and ascended for your salvation, then congratulations, you just became a Christian!
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10)
“But as many as received him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name” (John 1:12)
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
God wants a relationship with you, and all you have to do is talk with Him.
Dear Heavenly Father,
I know that I have not been living the life that you wanted for me and that my sins have separated me from you. I am sorry, and I want to repent from my past life in the sinful world and live for you as you intended for me to. Please forgive me for all of my transgressions, and help me to resist the temptations of sinning again. I believe that you sent your son, Jesus Christ, to save me, and that He was crucified for my sins and was resurrected from the dead. I open my heart and ask Jesus to become Lord over my life from this day forward. Please send the Holy Spirit to help me follow you, O Lord, and to live by your will for the rest of my life.
In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
Pray. He’s waiting and He’s listening.
